The success of a major undertaking like The American Legion World Series depends on strict attention to all the details. For the annual tournament in Shelby, those responsible for everything from concessions to parking, from security to ticket sales, are volunteers, even the Executive Committee.
About 500 people gave their time and energy to the 2011 World Series in Shelby, the inaugural of the games in their new permanent home on Veterans Field at Keeter Stadium.It was the most successful World Series in the history of the games.
