The first American Legion World Series in its official home has been completed. This year’s World Series exceeded all past series in attendance with an amazing 86,162 tickets sold. The eight teams competing brought some of the best baseball in the country to Veterans Field at Keeter Stadium. This was the first time ESPN3 has covered an American Legion World Series tournament allowing people around the world to watch the games live. We enjoyed great baseball, honored our fallen soldiers, and celebrated our enlisted men and women and our veterans. The 2011 title was won by Eden Prairie, Minnesota. They came out on top after forcing a 15th game on the last day of the series. We have already started planning for 2012 and will keep you up to date on our plans for next year.
